
The 29-year-old steps up to the role of editor at the Oswestry and Border Counties Advertizer and The Whitchurch Herald on Monday, October 14, after almost six years as chief reporter and head of news at the County Times and Express in Welshpool.
For Richard the move to Oswestry sees him return in charge at the paper he started out at as a trainee reporter in 2006, after graduating from Staffordshire University with a BA Hons Journalism degree.
He said: "I felt honoured to take up the role of editor and I am looking forward to serving the communities of Oswestry, Whitchurch, Ellesmere, Chirk and Llanfyllin.
"Thanks to all the hard work put in by the team, we have a fabulous newspaper and a growing online audience. I am looking forward to the exciting times ahead."
Richard, who joined WMW in 2010, has also spent time reporting on the sports desk at The Leader, Wrexham. He remains the motoring writer for the County Times.
