Blood Bikes Wales has 300 members and operates more than 20 motorcycles. Members are motorbike enthusiasts who deliver blood and other vitally required items overnight or at weekends for NHS Wales when NHS transport is unavailable or committed elsewhere.
Blood Biles Wales members do this entirely free of charge and the organisation is a charity dependent on public fundraising.
The presentation took place at Cruz Cymru 2018 – an annual gathering of both custom and performance cars, fire service, police, other emergency services and road safety organisations. Venue was the Royal Welsh Agricultural Showground at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells.

Denis retired as director of communications for Vauxhall Motors at the end of May. He celebrated a fifty-year career in the motor industry in 2015 and over 30 years as a highly regarded PR professional.
Born and brought up in Cardiff, Denis has retained a real affection for Wales and his Welsh connections. He has been a true, much valued friend and supporter of WMW since its formation in 1992.
He joins a distinguished group comprising Richard Parry-Jones CBE, Richard Woolley, Tim Jackson and Bill Parfitt CBE.

Former Treasurer Graham Breeze indicated last year that he would like to step aside from the post due to an increase in commitments.
This ensured an orderly hand-over to allow Liam to settle into the role this year. Liam is a well-respected motoring writer contributing to a number of prestigious titles.
WMW chairman Huw Thomas said: “Many at WMW have known Denis Chick all our working lives and know how much he has done for us individually and collectively. We are delighted now to have him with us as a patron.
"Blood Bikes Wales provide a service of real importance. They stand ready at any time to assist GIG Cymru (NHS Wales) and we are pleased to make a financial contribution once more this year.
"Similarly WMW members are very grateful to Liam Bird for taking on the post of Treasurer. I am sure he will do a great job”.
